How to spend 24 hours in Glasgow, Scotland 2017

Glasgow, Scotland // Hello lovelies, hope you've had a great week so far. I'm sharing a travel post about one of my favourite Scottish cities, Glasgow. As someone who has lived in Scotland their whole life, I know that it's very easy to forget just how wonderful the place is. I think it's always worthwhile taking a moment to appreciate your own surroundings and enjoy being a tourist in your own country. I've loved many opportunities in the past to enjoy adventures around Scotland (see my previous posts about Stornoway, Caithness and Edinburgh), but today I'd like to shine a light on, and share the love for, Glasgow.

Glasgow is Scotland's biggest city, bursting with culture, exciting things to see and do, oh and let's not forget the delicious food spots and eateries.... so, let's start!

Mini In The Box Jewellery Review 2017

Mini In The Box Jewellery Review // Hello loves, hope you've had a great week. I'm really excited to share some costume jewellery from online boutique, Mini In The Box with you all. Those who know me, know that I'm an absolute sucker for costume jewellery, particularly necklaces. I'm slowing but surely growing a huge collection of statement pieces - most of which I've found on eBay at a bargain price. The right jewellery can help to transform the simplest of outfits, and it's always such a great investment if you can't afford a whole new outfit. I was really excited to select some items to review, keep reading to hear my thoughts...

Monochrome Flowers // Outfit of the Day

Monochrome Flowers // So I really wasn't lying when I said I own about 100 black and white floral print dresses... but can a girl really have too many? I think this print is really classic, perfect for any occasion and will stand the test of time - quite literally - I've actually owned this River Island dress for about three years now and it's still going strong...

Sony Xperia XZ and DIY App Review 2017

Sony Xperia XZ by Vodafone UK // As you’ll know from my previous post [here] I am a big fan of Apple products. I always have been – my first ‘proper’ smartphone was the iPhone 3GS which kept me going until the winter of 2015, when I finally gave in and decided to purchase an iPhone 6 – and I’ll probably wait 3 more generations before I switch again… But before the age of smart phones, let’s not forget the epic Sony Ericsson phones that pretty much everyone had in the school playground. I remember I had the most amazing purple phone that would light up at the sides whenever I got a text or a call and if I'm being honest, I wish I was still using that phone today… Nevertheless my friends, the purple Sony Ericsson’s of the past have grown up  - let me introduce you to…. The Sony XZ.

Brooklyn by Colm Toibin // Book Review 2017

Eilis Lacy, sitting at the window of the upstairs living room in the house on Friary Street, noticed her sister walking briskly from work. She watched Rose crossing the street from sunlight into shade, carrying the new leather handbag that she had bought in Clery's in Dublin in the sale. Rose was wearing a cream-coloured cardigan over her shoulders. Her golf clubs were in the hall; in a few minutes, Eilis knew, someone would call for her and her sister would not return until the summer evening had faded.

Pretty In Pink // Outfit of the Day

Pretty in Pink // Hello loves, I'm finally back on track with my outfit posts - and this outfit is actually one of my favourites. You'll probably know by now that I just love everything pink and floral, so this really is a winning combo. I love finding new ways to wear old dresses, and this black and pink one has had a special place in my heart ever since I got it a couple of years ago. It's always given the most flattering shape and the pattern is so lovely - the combination of dusky pink, grey and black is perfecttttt.

Anne Klein Diana Chain Handbag Review 2017

Anne Klein Handbag // Hello loves, I've been a little 'out of the loop' lately. Ever since I got back from holiday, my blogging pattern has been a bit funny, but I'm finally back in the swings of things. I thought I'd show you guys my new black and gold handbag from Anne Klein. This was actually a surprise present from my boyfriend, who very kindly chose this wonderful accessory. Those that know me, know that I love any accessory that is black and gold - it's just such a classic combination! I love that this bag is similar to some of the Gucci bags out there at the moment, but my gorgeous lion logo beats them hands down - just look  at how cute it is! Love, love, love!

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doer // Book Review 2017

At dusk they pour from the sky. They blow across the ramparts , turn cartwheels over rooftops, flutter into the ravines between houses. Entire streets swirl with the, flashing white against the cobbles. 'Urgent message to the inhabitants of this town', they say. 'Depart immediately to open country'

Glasses Shop Review and Discount 2017

Glasses Shop Review // Hello loves, hope you're having a great week so far! I'm excited to share another collaboration with online glasses boutique, GlassesShop.com. Unfortunately, I'm slowly becoming as blind as a wee bat and have become quite reliant on glasses, particularly for things like watching TV and driving... I was very kindly sent these retro-style glasses, created for my unique prescription. Although they do make me look slightly 'Harry Potter-esque', this quirky pair is a great additional to my growing glasses collection - it's always great to have multiple pairs of glasses for any kind of emergency... I think I'll leave this pair over at my boyfriend's house, just so I know there is always a pair there, and it's one less thing to worry about...

Salt and Pepper Coat // Outfit of the Day

Salt and Pepper Coat // Happy Sunday, hope you've had a lovely week. I bought this 'salt and pepper' coat from Oasis about three years ago, and it's been a staple piece of my wardrobe ever since. It was honestly a fantastic purchase - it was £100 but I also think it's a good idea to invest in a quality coat, and this one has been such a great purchase. I've had it dry-cleaned a number of times but it's still looking as good as new. The speckled black, white and grey design complements so many of my existing items of clothing, making it such a versatile jacket.

My Life in Pictures // Instagram

Instagram // Oh how I just love the arrival of Spring and the warmer days... It just makes everything better. I've always told myself that I'm destined to live in the sun - I think it was all those summer holidays spent travelling around Europe, mainly Italy, when I was younger. I am now a full-blown sun worshipper and can honestly say I'm only truly happy when in the sunshine. So, as you can imagine, living in cold and wet Scotland can be difficult and I'm pretty sure I've suffered from S.A.D at some point in my life... Still, Scotland looks extremely pretty when the sun does decide to shine, and I thought I'd share some of the pictures that I've been snapping lately.

How to spend 48 hours in Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen, Denmark // At the beginning of March, I travelled to Copenhagen to celebrate my lovely friend DeeDee's 30th birthday. I was so excited to return to CPH - I spent a wonderful 6 months living in Denmark whilst studying at University - I was fortunate enough to take part in the study abroad Erasmus programme and attend Teko University in a small danish town called Herning. Now, Copenhagen was a good 3 hours away on the train, but it didn't stop us from visiting every couple of weeks, and I soon fell in love with the city. Going back there just deepened my love for the country even more, and so I thought I'd share my short trip with you all. We arrived on the Friday night and left early Monday morning, so we had a solid 48 hours to enjoy the beautiful city...

Aztec Print // Outfit of the Day

Aztec Print // Hello loves, hope you're having a great weekend. It's been a relatively quiet week for me, but I still managed to have a wander through the local charity shops in search for some bargains. I'm particularly excited to show you this little black and white number - I was drawn to the busy aztec print and cute cut, and sold by the £4 price tag! As much as I love finding pieces on eBay, charity shop bargains are just as great. I know it's not for everyone, but I love being able to find new pieces for a little price tag.

Imagise Personalised iPhone 6 Case Review and Giveaway 2017

Imagise iPhone Case // Happy Friday, hope you've had a great week so far! Exciting news: I was recently contacted by the lovely team over at Imagise, who kindly offered me the chance to design a personalised iPhone 6 case! I'm definitely one of those people who are obsessed with their phone and it's constantly in my hand or extremely close by... I've always loved buying cases for my phone and making it as pretty as can be, so when I got the chance to design a new case, I was really excited. I'm a sucker for bright patterns and recently came across this pastel, watercolour design on Pinterest. I was particularly drawn to the pink, purple and blue colours (my favourite!) and was instantly in love when the case arrived in the post last week. I am really impressed with the quality of the case. It's made from thick plastic which is protective and will keep my iPhone completely safe and secure - perfect for anyone who is clumsy like me! :-)

Easter Parade // Outfit of the Day

Easter Parade // Hello loves, hope you're having a wonderful weekend. It's Easter - the only time of year that it's acceptable to eat as much chocolate as you like, and nobody will judge. Hope you're having a great mini holiday with family and friends, and I also hope you've got easter eggs coming out your ears. Brace yourselves but I'm about to admit a big secret: I'm actually not a fan of chocolate. Yup that's right, I hardly ever eat it and when I do, I feel really sick. It's just not my go-to snack or treat. Now, crisps are a different story. I'm always the first to open a bag of crisps or dip my hand into the big bowl. I could seriously eat crisps for daysssss and I'm known for always carrying an emergency packet in my handbag... I really wish there was a British holiday that celebrated crisps, not chocolate! ;)

Feeling Grey - Outfit of the Day

Feeling Grey // hello loves, how's your week been? I picked up this grey jumper from the H&M sale last week. It was an absolute bargain - £5! and it's blended with cashmere and wool, making it feel like such a luxurious piece for the tiny price tag. I usually hate the itchy feel of wool against my skin but this jumper is lovely to wear and doesn't irritate at all - yay!

Amazon Fire TV Stick Review 2017

Amazon Fire TV Stick Review // Hello loves, I have a slightly different post for you today. I was recently asked if I wanted to review an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Now, I’m going to be perfectly honest and let you in on a little secret.... I had no idea what an ‘amazon fire TV stick’ even was but with a name like that, it was too exciting an opportunity to miss, haha! :-)

I quickly learned that an amazon fire tv stick is a sleek, black USB-shaped stick that you plug into your TV through the HDMI port. It’s an easy way to enjoy over 7,000 channels, apps and games (yes, really!!), AND it gives individuals the chance to watch over 250,000 TV episodes and movies on Netflix, Amazon Video, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, ITV Hub, HBO Now, HULU to name a few… Yes, that’s right. This is pretty much every TV lovers’ dream and a real game changer when it comes to the way we now watch TV. We have all seen the success of channels like Netflix and the huge trend of watching TV and movies in a portable, wireless way.

Daniel Wellington Watch and Discount 2017

Daniel Wellington // Hello loves, hope you're having a great week so far! You'll know from my previous posts [here, here and here], that I have a slight obsession with my new watch from Daniel Wellington. The Swedish brand very kindly sent me one of their Classic Sheffield watches and I was over the moon. These watches are gorgeous and are the perfect accessory for any outfit - seriously, this watch goes with everything. That's why I love a black and gold combo so much, it's a timeless look that means you can honestly wear this watch pretty much everyday.

Another Floral Dress - Outfit of the Day

Another Floral Dress // Wow, it's April, when did that happen?! Anyways, here's me in a floral dress - what's new? It's true, I must own about 100 different floral dresses, but to me, they are all unique in their own way. It's kind of like it's become my wardrobe staple, just like some women love black jeans or a classic white shirt, I love floral dresses. To me, you can't really go wrong with them and usually go well with my jackets, black tights, and accessories.

Instagram // Hello loves, hope you've had a great week. It's been a busy one over here - it was my birthday on Sunday, which was also Mother's Day annddddd the clocks went forward- boooo! I hate losing an hour of sleep in my bed. My birthday was fantastic though - we were so lucky with the weather and there was enough cake to feed a small army. I got thoroughly spoilt by my lovely friends and family, which always makes turning a year older that tiny bit easier...

La Redoute Pink Lace Dress - Outfit of the Day

Pink Party Dress // It's my birthday!! So, naturally, I've decided to throw on my favourite pink party dress and feel fancy all day - will literally spend the day munching on cupcakes and eating all kinds of other treats! I can't believe it's been a whole year since I went to see Adele live ... sadly, I'm not doing anything that exciting this year, but still going to spend quality time with loved ones and eat as much as possible, which is always a great recipe for a fabulous birthday!

I received an early birthday gift in the form of this gorgeous Daniel Wellington watch, which was kindly sent to me from the Swedish brand. I'm in love with the effortless and stylish design, it's such a classic timepiece to own.

Florals for Spring - Outfit of the Day

Florals for Spring // Happy Sunday! Okay, I know I say this about most of the items of clothing that I post on this wee blog of mine, but seriously, I am in love with this shirt. I picked it up in my local charity shop for £1 (yes, £1!!) and had initially planned to sell in on eBay (show me the money!!). Usually, when I decide to sell something, I won't try it but I loved this combination of colours and patterns too much - I had to try it on this time. And, of course, once I did, well... I just had to keep it!

Breo Sunglasses Review 2017

Breo Sunglasses // Spring is well and truly here and summer is on it's way - YAY! It's amazing how the weather can drastically change your mood - as soon as the days got brighter and lighter, I wanted to get outside and get exercising. When it's winter, all you want to do is curl up on the sofa and sit by the fire. But, the sun has been shining brightly in the mornings now and it's putting a hugeeeee smile on my face. :-)

Black and White Floral Dress - Outfit of the Day

Black and White Florals // Oh, how I love a floral dress. If I were to look at my wardrobe as a percentage, I would say floral dresses make up 99.9% of its contents... and yet, I can't seem to stop buying them - it's clearly an addiction. But the thing is, although I have a mountain of dresses all with a floral print, to me, they are all slightly different and unique in their own way. For example, the one I'm wearing today is quite different from any of the other black and white floral dresses that I own already ... I swear! ;-)

I'm so excited that flowers are back in bloom and we are slowly but surely seeing the return of the summer plants in the gardens, parks and shops. I bought these faded pink roses last week from Aldi - they were only £2, how amazing is that? It really doesn't cost much to brighten up your day a little bit - flowers are always a good idea!

Glasses Shop Review and Discount 2017

Glasses Shop Review // As far back as I can remember, I've always had perfect vision. Seriously. I would boast about the fact that I was the only member of family who did not need to wear glasses and I was chuffed with my 20/20 vision. But let me tell you, I'm getting old... and I'm not happy about it. Back at Christmas time, I was getting a few headaches and noticed that some things were not looking right. For example, whenever I was watching TV or typing on my laptop, I would experience double vision and/or things were becoming really fuzzy. I finally realised it was probably a good idea to get my eyes tested... holy moly, turns out I'm short sighted in one eye, whilst the other has some sort of stigmatism. I'm still not 100% what it all means (refuse to believe my eyes are failing on me) but all I know is that I now need to wear glasses...

Pastel Green Lace Dress by Monki - Outfit of the Day

Monki Lace Dress // Hello loves, by the time you read this, I shall be enjoying a long weekend in Copenhagen with my lovely girls. I'm so excited to be back in the Danish capital - I lived in Denmark for 6 months whilst studying on Erasmus, and it was the best experience of my life. I find myself dreaming of Denmark all the time and in love with everything to do with the Danish way of life. I'll no doubt be snapping a million pictures, and will be sure to share them with you all once I'm back home.

Sudio Sweden Wireless Headphones Review 2017

Sudio Sweden Wireless Headphones // After my little dabble at reviewing technology last week, I was thrilled to be contacted by the team at Sudio Sweden. They very kindly offered me the chance to review a pair of their Vasa Blå wireless headphones - ahh, I can't believe how lucky I am sometimes! :-) I was instantly amazed at the concept of wireless headphones - why had I never heard of these before?!? I'm always struggling with my old headphones; they are either tangled in an enormous knot or they get caught on door handles, zips, shopping trolleys, any random object really! So, when Sudio Sweden introduced me to their 'hassle free' headphones, I was hooked.

Vodafone Smart Prime 7 Review 2017

Vodafone Smart Prime 7 // This blog is primarily a fashion and lifestyle blog, and those that follow me will know that that's my area of interest and what I love to blog about. But it doesn't mean it's my only interest and I love sharing and talking about other things that tickle my fancy on this little space of the internets - I guess that's why I chose such a random blog name so that I could talk about anything and everything - what does Electric Sunrise even mean? Anyways, let's not get distracted... you'll know from my previous post [here], I was recently sent the new smartphone from Vodafone, the Smart Prime 7. I have never had the opportunity to review a piece of technology on the old blog before, but it's an area that I have huge interest in - I actually have a masters degree in digital marketing and really interested in the development of mobile technology - so even though I'm a 'fashion blogger', I was really excited by this opportunity.

Topshop Gold Jumper - Outfit Of The Day

Today We're Feeling Like Gold // Gooood morning my loves! I'm sharing yet another strange outfit today... that's right, I'm wearing jeans! I spoke in my last jeans post [you can read it here] about how much of a dress/ skirt kind of girl I am, and it's still true - I would choose to wear a dress over a pair of jeans any day. But I must admit, some items of clothing look better worn with jeans, and this jumper is one of them.

Daniel Wellington Watch and Love Heart Charm

Daniel Wellington // Good morning and happy Friday! :-) It's been quite a stressful week for me - it's been one of those weeks where it just seems like I have a million things to do and I've spent my days crossing jobs off my (seemingly never ending) 'To Do' list. I'm glad that Friday is here and I can relax over the weekend, although it's never seems long enough... Yesterday was great though - the lovely team over at Daniel Wellington very kindly sent me a new watch, along with a limited edition 'love heart' charm... I can't tell you how big my smile was when opening this parcel, I was instantly in LOVE.

Black Ankle Boots from Zaful - Product Review 2017

New Shoes // Hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right! To quote Paolo, I got some new shoes in the post last week and they are luverlyyyy. I was recently contacted by online boutique, Zaful, who very kindly offered me the chance to review one of their products. I decided to treat myself to a pair of black ankle boots - a pair of black boots are pretty much a wardrobe staple for every girl I know, and you can never have too many pairs, am I right ladies?!

Blue Vintage Dress - Outfit of the Day

Vintage Dress // Hello loves, I hope you've had a great weekend! I was recently going through my wardrobe and came across this 'vintage' inspired dress from the online brand, Glamorous. It's funny how you can just easily forget about clothes that you own - I definitely have too many dresses and it's a shame because half of them don't get worn as much as they should. I think I may need to try out this Marie Kondo revolution and get rid of some of my clothes. I'd love to try a 'capsule' wardrobe some day - you know, when you only have like 30 items of clothing and you can somehow create endless outfit possibilities? But I dunno, I love all my clothes too much and so many hold sentimental memories, I don't think I could ever throw them away...

My Life in Pictures // Instagram

Instagram // Hello loves, hope you've had a great week. Valentines Day came and went in a blink - Owen and I enjoyed a Chinese takeaway and laughed at some classic episodes of Peep Show, but I can't help feeling like the year is already flying by. It feels like Christmas was only a few weeks ago and when I stop to think about it, I get freaked out when I realise just how fast life is whizzing past. But, it's also exciting - in a couple of weeks time I'll be enjoying a long weekend break in Copenhagen, a trip that was booked back in December and I had tucked away at the back of my mind. It's a great feeling knowing that I'll be back in the country that I love so much, and will no doubt be sharing a picture or two on the blog soon!

'Appy' Valentines Day with Vodafone Smart Prime 7

Smart Prime 7 // Hello loves, hope you’re having a great week so far. Oh, and Happy Valentines! I’ve got some exciting news – I was recently contacted by Vodafone, who have kindly offered me the chance to review one of their state-of-the-art smartphones, the Vodafone Smart Prime 7. Now, I’m very much an Apple ‘kind of girl’. My first phone as a young teenager was the classic Sony Ericsson W810 (who didn’t have one of their phones?!), but as soon as I could afford an iPhone 3GS, I was obsessed. I’m now using an iPhone 6, but if I’m being honest, I’ve never used any other kind of smartphone or brand.

I know that there are so many other options out there, and therefore jumped at the chance to review a different model. The Smart Prime 7 phone has only been lent to me for the purpose of this review, but I’m still very excited to try it out over the next few weeks and share my thoughts with you all. What are my first impressions though? Well, I am already warming to this super sleek smart phone – the design is perfectly simple and stylish.  The handset, so far, is incredibly easy to use and I’m impressed with the wide range of innovative features – it has everything you would ever need and want from a modern phone. And the best part, and possibly the most surprising? It’s incredibly affordable – the phone will cost just £16 per month or £70 pay as you go.

Valentines Love Heart Dress - Outfit of the Day

Valentines Love Hearts // Hello loves, wishing you all a lovely Valentines Day for when it arrives on Tuesday. Now, you may remember that I mentioned a while back that I'd fallen in love with a certain dress (it was this one here!) And you may have also remembered that I told you I had picked it up in two colours... Well, here we are! I decided to keep this cherry coloured beauty for Valentines time, and show off this heart print dress when we are about to celebrate the day of love! I'm going to be honest though - I actually decided to return this dress. The purple colour was not as discreet as the black and every crease and fold was very noticeable. When I sat down, the back of the dress became extremely crumpled and I just wasn't happy with how it looked - the black was much more forgiving.

Instagram // Hello loves, here I am again sharing another dose of weekly pictures. As you can probably tell, I'm obsessed with anything purple and shiny. I recently discovered that I'm short-sighted in my right eye, and my other eye has some sort of stigmatism - I'm not 100% sure what it all really means, but I do know that I now need to wear glasses in order to see things in the distance... Naturally, I chose a purple pair and have enjoyed wearing them over the last few weeks. Also, how awesome are those glitter donuts? I really want to try and attempt to make these with some edible glitter, do you think it would work?

Topshop Striped Orange Jumper - Outfit of the Day

Striped Jumper // Hello lovelies, how are you today? I'm hoping that you've had a great weekend. I'm sharing yet another quick outfit post today - this is a staple outfit of mine, particularly for work. I know this Topshop jumper is pretty old and I remember when most people had a version hanging in their wardrobe, but I really enjoy wearing it. It's a slightly different take on the classic 'breton' top and the orange is a much brighter colour than traditional black and white stripes. I always enjoy injecting some colour into my clothes - it's so easy to opt for monochrome most days but you know what they say.... The future's bright, the future's orange... ;)
