Dressing Down

Tee + Jeans - ASOS
Boots - Primark
Check Shirt - Topshop
Bag- H&M

Hello lovelies!

Hope you're all doing well! The weather has been absolutely awful lately, with the rain bucketing down almost every day. All I want to do is stay in bed with my comfy pyjamas on and watch telly with a hot pot of tea by my side. My feelings are probably reflected through my outfit choice today, quite a casual look for me you might agree?

I own one pair of jeans and these are them. These super comfy high-waisted babies are from ASOS and only really worn on rainy days, when I'm wrapped up in multiple layers. I probably love them so much because they hardly resemble jeans at all. The soft stretch material makes them more like thick leggings, which is perfect for me! :)

Fingers crossed the weather picks up soon, so that I can show a number of outfits I gots up my sleeve.

More soon!

Hansel and Gretel - A Fairytale Ballet

Lace Dress- H&M
Shoes + Watch - M&S

Hello lovelies!

Yesterday, I had the wonderful pleasure of attending the Scottish Ballet production of 'Hansel and Gretel' at my local theatre. What can I say? It was a truly magical show, with beautiful costumes and fantastic set design! I was really impressed with the choreography, which showcased a modern take on the classic fairytale. The bright colours and use of props was brilliant and provided a visually great show. I have been fortunate to see many musicals and shows on the London West End, and I'm usually quite sceptical when attending the theatre in my local town, as I always think it can't be as good quality as the ones I've seen in London. However, this fairytale blew me away and I was truly fixed to the storyline and dancing, it was a lovely afternoon! The ballet is running until the end of February, and if you get the chance to go, I promise you won't be disappointed. You can find pictures of the show below, where you can see for yourself how magical it really was!

I wore a cream lace dress from H&M that I bought years ago, but it's a simple, classic outfit perfect for an afternoon at the theatre. I paired it with my pretty court shoes from M&S and a couple of cute necklaces. I went out for cocktails with friends afterwards and I simply threw on a fitted blazer and heels, for a seamless outfit transition from day to night.

More soon,

New Year, New Dress

Glitter Swing Dress - Karma Clothing
Necklace - Vintage

Happy 2014!!

I can't quite believe just how fast the past year has flown by, it's a very scary thought! I hope everyone had a great New Years and enjoyed all the celebrations! Mine was spent with friends getting very merry with homemade cocktails and excessive dancing to cheesy pop.. the best! So, what better way to ring in the new year, than to wear a brand new shiny dress, literally!

As if I need an excuse to buy anymore dresses (my wardrobe must be about 80% dresses...) it's always great to have a shiny number kept in case of glamorous emergencies. This lovely glitter swing dress from Karma Clothing provides me with just that. The comfortable stretch material is great if you've eaten one too many sausage rolls at a New Years Day party (guilty), and the glitter pattern adds enough glam to turn this outfit from casual to classy, with just the right amount of sparkles! :)

Wishing you all the best for 2014 and I hope you're all sticking to your New Year resolutions...

More soon,

Helen
