The Lust List: Best Colourful Trainers for Summer.

Hello lovelies!
I've decided to start a new blog post series called 'The Lust List' - a selection of all the items I am lusting over the week. Today, it's trainers. I'm in dire need of new trainers; walking to and from work in Edinburgh has been tough on the feet and it's about time I treated myself to a new pair. I spent some time searching on ASOS and here are my favourites at the moment (just click on each picture to be taken to the product page - don't say I'm not good to ya!).

Appreciating my Other Half - Sponsored by Daniel Wellington.

I want to take a minute and appreciate the special someone in my life, who has never really been given a mention on my blog before: my boyfriend, Owen. This guy is the bomb. I know it's cheesy but he really is my best friend, soul mate, TV binge buddy, burger-making partner in crime, the salt to my pepper, the Ash to my Pikachu, and everything else in between. Recently, he's been my rock - as I've moved city and started a new job, he's been supportive and strong which has been fantastic and something I've definitely needed.
I was recently contacted by one of my favourite brands, Daniel Wellington, to select a watch from their new Dapper Collection. I've worked with the Swedish brand in the past and have always been in love with their watch collections and impressed by their impeccable customer service. I decided to use this opportunity to select a watch for Owen and surprise him with a wonderful, and not to mention 'oh so stylish' present.

I decided to choose the Dapper St Mawes watch, mainly for the lovely leather strap and the striking blue hand dials. I was a little unsure about which watch strap to select, but luckily, Daniel Wellington are offering an extra watch strap free with any order until June 13th - great news for indecisive people like me! I chose the Dapper York as my additional strap - the gorgeous design shines in the light and complements the original St Mawes nicely.

The Verdict? Owen was thrilled to receive such an amazing watch, which has been beautifully designed. The alternative strap allows him to switch it up most days, especially when it's so easy to do so - you can watch how to change a Daniel Wellington watch strap here - simples!

If you would like to treat a loved one, or fancy a new watch for yourself, Daniel Wellington are currently offering my blog readers 15% off any watch with the code: ELECTRIC15. Just enter the code at checkout to receive your discount. Offer valid until June 15th.
That's not all folks - blog readers can also receive a free watch strap with any purchase they make before June 13th, so what you waiting for? Treat yourself now! :)

This Unruly Mess I've Made // Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Concert 2016

In the past, I was never a huge fan of hip-hop and would only listen to it occasionally - I think it’s fair to say that it has never been my ‘go to’ genre. But life can work in some weird and wonderful ways – have you ever listened to an artist and fallen in love with all their songs? Because that happened to me with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. My boyfriend has been a huge fan from the beginning, owning the first album and I’d like to thank him for introducing me to such a fantastic artist. I remember the first time I listened to ‘The Heist’ and I was mesmerized by songs such as Ten Thousand Hours, Jimmy Iovine and Wings. I obviously loved the well-known tracks such as Thrift Shop, Can’t Hold Us and Same Love, but it was the less popular, less heard tracks like Starting Over and Victory Lap that I really grew to love.

As soon as I heard about ‘This Unruly Mess I’ve Made’ Tour, I knew we had to go. We arrived early and queued up to get the best view possible. We stood in the crowd for three and a half hours waiting for the band to take the stage, and well, it was definitely worth the wait. I didn’t think I could love Macklemore more than I already do, but after seeing him perform all his tracks live, with so much passion and enthusiasm, he’s become one of my favourite artists of all time.
What I loved about watching him and Ryan Lewis perform live, is that you can tell that they love what they do and everything is sincere. After a performance of the track Wings, Macklemore spoke about how he had written that song after completing rehab for alcohol abuse, and the sound of fans singing along to his lyrics would never get old to him. The band ended the concert with not one, not two, but three encores, showing just how dedicated they are to their fans. As confetti fell in the arena to the final song of Downtown, I just felt so lucky to have witnessed such a fantastic performance.

I think the reason why I love and admire Macklemore so much is because he has achieved everything by himself. As an artist, he refused to be bought and decided to self-produce, self-record and self-release all his own material, and in an industry so cut-throat like music, that is hella impressive.
Having you seen Macklemore perform live? Let me know what you think below!

One Fine Day - Summer Outfit

Summer outfit for a day spent at the park reading
Perfect outfit for an afternoon spent reading at the park.

Hello lovelies!

I think in this heavily digital-orientated society it's good to switch off your phone for a couple of hours and do something different. Go to the park with friends, sit in your garden and read a book, try something new like painting, learn a musical instrument, learn a new language.... Engage your brain in new activity, instead of refreshing your facebook or instagram feed. I feel sometimes I can get lost in technology and I begin to turn into a zombie. I've just moved flat and waiting for the internet to be connected. The lack of wifi access is making me engage in new activites and it feels really good. It feels healthy. I know it's ironic because I'm now writing this blog post, but a break from the world wide web ain't so bad sometimes. Go on, I dare you to give it a try!

My Life in Pictures // Instagram

Hello lovelies!
An influx of pictures to share with you all today! These pictures are actually quite old and have been sitting on my laptop desktop since last summer. There is something quite lovely about looking back at old pictures though and remembering exactly what you were doing at that moment, or being reminded of an old memory from the past. I particularly like this set of pictures because it reminds me of when I travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year to see a few shows. I've actually just moved to Edinburgh to start a new job and so happy to be able to call this city my new 'home'
