Irresistible Me 8 in 1 Hair Curling Wand - Review 2016

Hello everyone! Last month I was really lucky to be sent a lovely hair curling kit from the team at Irresistible Me. I wrote an initial unboxing review, which you can read here, but after several weeks of chaos, I have finally found the time to sit down and test this kit out!

I was really excited to use these curling wands, but there was a slight hiccup - it was an American product! This was absolutely fine as I had been forewarned by the IM team, but it meant I had to go searching for a US to UK plug adapter. After waiting several weeks for one to arrive on eBay (ordered one from China, my bad), I was finally ready to test these bad boys!

Now, this curling wand is really damn impressive. The set comes with eight interchangeable barrels, meaning you'll never get bored of the curls and waves it has to offer - the style choices are almost endless! As I've said previously, my hair is super thick, super long, and super fine. It's a nightmare combination, particularly when it comes to curling. I can't tell you how many times I've painstakingly sat and curled my hair for what seems like hours and endured painful cramp in my arms as I stretch to get the perfect curl, only for it all to blow out of shape once I step outside. Fail.

For curls in my hair to really hold, I need to use a bucket of hairspray, and then I just become a walking and talking fire hazard. Although, the thought of hairspray now makes me physically shiver. After nearly losing all my hair to a monster of matted hair, I have banned the use of hairspray on my hair. So yeahhh, styling can be a challenge.

I decided to create very natural, beach waves and used the thickest wand. Styling was easy and was made even easier by wearing the fire resistant glove that was included in the set -  yay for not toasting my fingertips!

Hair Curling Wand - Review

I'm really happy with the overall look - the wands helped me to create a natural hair style without looking too over done. I'm not a fan of really tight curls, so these loose locks are perfect for me. I'm really impressed that the wand managed to shape my poker straight hair and, without the use of hairspray, my hair stayed in place all day - a feat that has not been achieved before - yay!

Have you tried these products yourself? I would love to know your thoughts.

More soon,

  1. I know the struggle! I have natural curly hair that I hate and I actually always straighten, but sometimes I want to have some nice waves and when I do them, they don't really last! lol I guess I need that wand!!!
